Rev. Dr. Shawn Bawulski, Pastor

Pastor Shawn joined the Congregation of the Good Shepherd in January of 2019. He grew up in the Midwestern United States. He earned a B.A. in Bible and Theology from the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago (where he met his wife, Sara), a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield IL, and a PhD in Theology from the University of St Andrews, St Andrews, Scotland (where both his daughters were born).

Dr. Bawulski has served in many different church ministries and has taught at several different universities and colleges in the US and Europe. Before taking the pastorate at Congregation of the Good Shepherd he most recently served as an Associate Professor of Theology at a Christian university in Phoenix. He has numerous publications, including a co-authored book with Stephen R. Holmes and an upcoming book with InterVarsity Press.

“I’ve always been excited about connecting the worlds of theology and pastoral ministry, because I think they need each other. Serving the church as a pastor-scholar is one of the many things I love about my ministry at COGS.”

His hobbies include watching documentary films, hiking, cycling, nerdy strategy board games, reading, and owning more books than he can reasonably read.
