The Congregation of the Good Shepherd is a diverse and welcoming liturgical community who gather for worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. We celebrate Holy Communion on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month and hold a Service of the Word on the other Sundays.
Many of our members come from denominations that use a prayer book or printed order of service that follows a common pattern and this is reflected in worship at COGS. Each Sunday you could expect to sing together, hear Scripture read and a sermon or reflection on that Scripture and to pray for the world and its needs.
Worship at the Congregation of the Good Shepherd draws on a diversity of liturgical traditions and is shaped by the rhythm of the church year. Our reading of Scripture follows the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL).
Children aged 3-14 are welcome to attend Sunday School every Sunday during worship time. Throughout the year, particularly on festive occasions, we gather as a whole community for all-age worship.
Whatever your previous experience of Christian worship (high church, low church, no church) you are welcome to attend a service any Sunday or to contact the pastor (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
