Dan Sandifer-Stech

Dan began serving as a pastor at COGS in August 2006. Originally from Louisiana in the United States, Dan, his wife Gwen and their three daughters moved to Beijing from Birmingham, AL. in July, 2006. Dan previously held an associate professor position in Family Studies at Samford University. He is a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the PCUSA denomination, and is a graduate of Baylor University (BA), Southern Seminary (M.Div), and Virginia Tech (Ph.D.).

Since college Dan has worked in a variety of professional positions including service as a hospital chaplain, youth minister, marriage and family therapist, college professor, and grant administrator. Dan is also a clinical member and approved supervisor in the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Beyond work and being a dad Dan also  enjoys growing plants, reading, swimming, hiking, and eating out!

Rod Suderman

Hailing from Canada, Rod and his family have lived in China for nine years. In Canada he served as an ordained pastor, and in China, he and his spouse, Kathi, are the North East Asia Representatives for Mennonite Central Committee.  MCC is a North American non-governmental organization (NGO) that works in the area of relief, development, and peace. They have three children. The Suderman family has attended COGS since 1998, and during this time Rod has helped with preaching, worship leading, and has served on various congregational committees. Rod states, "I believe God has called us into community to care for one another and to be a light in our world."


Elyn MacInnis


Elyn has lived in China for 20 years with her husband Peter and two daughters, making China her home.   Both Elyn and Peter are graduates of Harvard University Divinity School.  Elyn has served as Pastor for the English congregation at Saint Paul's Church in Nanjing from 1988 to 1995 and at Good Shepherd in Beijing since 1995, where she has worked to share and build the Service Projects of the congregation.   Elyn enjoys art, music, finding new ways to understand cultural differences, spirituality, Chinese calligraphy and culture.

Kurt Selles

A Calvin College graduate with a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, Kurt has spent many years in China, and is also an ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church in the U.S.
